Some of you may have seen some letters after my name and not known what they actually mean. I am a qualified solicitor, specifically property law, but my inner goddess was dying to get out and do something that personally resonated with me. I struggled with cystic acne in my teens and no matter what I did or tried; the ugly heads still managed to come back. Now the teen years for all teenagers are a time to discover yourself, start to dress up, dabble in wearing make up to make yourself feel attractive, but when you have to constantly plaster your face in makeup to try mask the spots, this isn’t something to feel attractive by!
What did I do?
Using my poor dad’s credit cards, I booked in with fancy clinics, later realising they were in fact non-medical, with perfect looking women, who would tell you how bad your skin was and then quote a high amount for treatments that usually didn’t work and in fact would at times aggravate my skin even further. I went on a course of Roaccutane many a times which would initially clear up and then come back even worse. The scarring I’ve been left with, I believe, is from poor treatment of the acne rather than the acne itself.
Why am I sharing this with you?
Because this is my big WHY.
