Dye-VL In Action
Using light energy our DYE VL laser treatment targets and destroys the haemoglobin that is responsible in causing facial redness, flushing and red veins and uses the body’s natural resources to filter and break it down.
The laser emits light energy that can specifically target areas of redness, whilst minimising the risk of adverse side effects associated with other lasers of its kind.

What Can Dye-VL Treat?
It is an advanced system of intense pulsed light (IPL) that is safe enough for use on all areas of the body and
can successfully be used to treat the following conditions:
- Melasma
- Freckles Â
- Age spots/sun spots
- Â Hemangioma
- Port Wine Stains
- Irregular Pigmentation
- Rosacea
- Facial Spider Veins
Treatment Areas
The laser technology used to treat these vascular lesions targets specifically haemoglobin, this is a major component of our vascular system. The laser produces a bright light energy that is absorbed by abnormal blood vessels, causing structural damage to them without damaging the surrounding skin tissue. The laser applicator head has cooling technology meaning you will feel comfortable during and after the procedure. The duration of the treatment is around 45 minutes, but is dependent on the area being treated.

About Dye-VL
Dye VL uses light energy to target chromophores. These are the molecules that give a lesion its color. In vascular lesions this is the hemoglobin. In pigmented lesions it is melanin. These chromophores absorb the wavelengths of light causing the molecule to heat and break down. AFT uses a special filtering system to convert previously unusable short wavelength light into a part of the usable spectrum. The result is a uniform light pulse and more predictable treatment to achieve desired results.
Sessions typically last about 30 minutes, but this may vary depending on the size of the area being treated. There will be little or no pain associated with your Dye VL treatment and numbing is not required.
The area will be cleansed to remove lotions, cosmetics or perfumes and appropriate eye protection is necessary. An ultrasound gel is applied which will feel cool while the hand piece delivers precise pulses of light to the targeted area. After treatment a sunscreen is applied and patients can return to their normal activities.
Following your complimentary consultation, your provider will give you specific instructions to follow before your treatment pertaining to sun exposure, proper sunscreen and additional instruction.
There is no downtime associated with this treatment, however we recommend the following :
- Avoid heat treatments for the next 24 hours
- Avoid Sun beds or Sun exposure
- Always wear an SPF protection ( min 30)
This treatment can be combined with other treatments on the Harmony XL Pro system for better results if necessary. Your Laser Therapist will be happy to talk you through the options available and tailor make a treatment plan for you.
