What do you look for when choosing your laser hair removal clinic?
A few years ago, lasers were much less commonplace and there were limited options as to which clinic to visit. Now, laser treatments are becoming more and more routine due to increased accessibility – there are SO many clinics out there now who offer laser hair removal, tattoo removal etc. As a result of this, treatment prices are much more competitive and thus more affordable to a wider range of people.
The trouble is, in a world with a clinic on every street (all offering amazing, cheap deals) – how do you choose which one to go to?
Unfortunately, in order to maximise profits in a rapidly expanding industry, a tendency has developed for some clinics to use cheaper laser equipment, machines that aren’t always maintained, technicians who may be under-trained (fast-track training courses or in-house training only), and operate under stressful working conditions with short treatment times, over-booked to fit as many clients in as possible.
These factors can lead to many adverse side effects including (to mention just a few) laser burns, hyper/hypopigmentation and paradoxical hypertrichosis (stimulated hair growth). The industry is currently unregulated although pushes are being made within Government to move towards regulating laser and related therapies.

So, in an unregulated industry, what should you look for in a laser hair removal clinic?
Your safety is paramount. At The Leeds Skin Clinic we operate from the premises of our CQC registered GP surgery (The Leeds Clinic), with doctors and nurses on site. We are held to the highest medical standards with CQC, and we hold our Skin Clinic to the same expectations.
Our therapists are Level 4+ trained with years of experience working with lasers and clients of all skin types, hair types, and varying concerns. Every day is a school day though, and we are continuously updating our knowledge and skills by attending regular training sessions to ensure we always get the best results for every client.
We use only the best equipment, which is kept regularly maintained. We use Alma Soprano Titanium Special Edition for hair removal, and Alma Harmony XL Pro for all other laser treatments including tattoo removal, iPixel, skin tightening, ClearLift, and more.
We have longer appointment times, meaning you have time to relax during your treatment without fear of being kicked out for the next client. This allows enough time to thoroughly treat every area with no rush. We also always have time to listen to any concerns, answer any questions, or just have a good old chat!
We understand laser and we understand what it feels like to be lasered (we have all been a client once) so we aim to make the experience as comfortable as possible!
Absolutely everyone welcome, always 😊
Client Testimonial:
Researched lots of places, went for many consultations but nothing stood out as much as The Leeds Clinic did! Had my thorough consultation for Laser hair removal with Jenny and she made me feel very at ease throughout the whole process from the consultation to the actual treatment. I came across the leeds clinic on instagram as it was a video of how the treatment goes and this was a big factor in my decision as I could visibly see everything that was going to happen and could also speak to Jenny in person about anymore questions I had.’
