Questions, Answers and Myths Debunked!

We welcome questions and are always on hand to provide in-depth information for all of our treatments and services. However, we feel there are several myths around laser hair removal that we feel compelled to address. We hope you find the following insightful. Of course, if you have any further questions, please do get in touch.

Myth 1: Laser Hair Removal is Painful

Truth: In the past, with previous methods of hair removal, the procedure was said to cause some discomfort. Most people described the sensation as a slight stinging or the snapping of a rubber band against the skin, depending on individual pain tolerance.

However, with Alma Soprano Titanium, we rarely receive complaints of discomfort or pain, opening up the procedure to everyone 🙌🏽

Myth 2: Laser Hair Removal Doesn’t Work on Light Hair

Truth: While laser hair removal is most effective on dark hair due to the high contrast with the skin, newer lasers and technologies have improved results for people with lighter hair.

Myth 3: Laser Hair Removal is Permanent

Truth: Laser hair removal significantly reduces hair growth, and for many people, it can lead to long-term hair reduction. However, it doesn’t guarantee permanent hair removal. Some hair may regrow over time, though it usually becomes finer and lighter. Individual hormones can play a part in the effectiveness.

Maintenance sessions might be needed to keep the desired results. However, our technology is the best in the industry and the results and feedback we’ve received are phenomenal.

Myth 4: Laser Hair Removal is Unsafe

Truth: When performed by a fully qualified and experienced specialist, using professional equipment, the procedure is completely safe. You can be reassured that with the latest technology, this treatment is the safest it has ever been.

Your therapist will talk you through every step of the process and what is normal and not normal so you can be alert to any (extremely rare) side effects. Following your therapist’s aftercare advice is imperative.

Myth 5: Laser Hair Removal Can Not Be Performed After Sun Exposure

Truth: While there are still some laser treatments that cannot be performed if you’ve acquired a sun tan, such as tattoo removal, laser hair removal is perfectly safe post-holiday.

So, if you were fed up with getting the razor out on holiday this year, and want to make an appointment, there’s no need to wait for your summer glow to disappear!

Myth 6: Laser Hair Removal Is Too Expensive

Truth: While the upfront cost of laser hair removal can be higher than other hair removal methods like shaving or waxing, it can be cost-effective in the long run. Since the results are long-lasting, many people find they save money over time by not needing to buy razors, wax, or other hair removal products.

And with our summer offer, reducing a full body package from £1800 to just £980, we have made hair-free skin a much more cost-effective reality.

Myth 7: Laser Hair Removal is Only for Women

Truth: Laser hair removal is effective for anyone looking to reduce unwanted hair, regardless of gender. It’s a popular procedure among men for areas like the back, chest, face and neck. We welcome athletes, transgender or anyone at all with the desire to have less body hair. Our clinic is 100% judgement-free 💜
