It’s That Time Of The Year Again

It’s That Time Of The Year Again!

Christmas is for children. but it is for grown-ups too. even if it is a headache, a chore, and nightmare, it is a period of necessary defrosting of chill and hide-bound hearts.”

Lenora Mattingly Weber

The shop windows are glistening; people are bustling around, laden with bags, and Christmas music seems to seep from every speaker.

We’ve been incredibly busy here in the clinic, helping you to feel your very best for the festive period.

At the same time, we’ve been making sure to make memories with our little people, too.

Christmas plays at school, card-making competitions, and festive films on the TV at night.

One of our favourite things to do a this time of the year is to visit the local pantomime or show. It’s a wonderfully wholesome experience that appeals to all ages. Okay, maybe not the baby, but she’ll be coming with us next time for sure!

The great thing about the festive performances is that they continue into January. So, if you’ve been too preoccupied with your “To Do Before Christmas” List, then you can still book for the post-Christmas shows. And relax knowing that “it’s behind you!” (sorry!)

Get your boos and cheers ready! Here are some of the brilliant performances taking place this December and January:

Jack and the Beanstalk: Presented by Leeds Heritage Theatre, this is another one of their infamous Rock & Roll pantos. Combining all the usual silliness of panto with a collection of rock anthems for the audience to enjoy!

And relaLeeds Playhouse has become synonymous with fantastic theatre productions. This year, there are two performances to choose that are both family-friendly. Following a successful West End and UK tour, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is back at Leeds Playhouse until 25th January. If like us you have very young children, perhaps you’d prefer Mr Snow. Aimed at ages 3 and up, this is a magical tale that will leave the whole family feeling festive and hopeful.

Beauty and the Beast at Carriageworks Theatre is a fabulous, classic panto for the whole family. Expect the usual helpings of audience participation, comedy, music and heartfelt storytelling. This one is only running until the 5th of January, so be quick!

If panto isn’t your thing, we’re lucky to have so many other brilliant festive activities around Leeds. Get your ice skates on at Millenium Square, visit Santa at White Rose or get outdoorsy with A Forest Full of Christmas Secrets at This Green Moon!

Share your favourite festive outings for the family. We’re always catering to a wide age range of children and are delighted with any/all your recommendations.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas 🎄
