About iPixel
Compared to older resurfacing laser technologies, iPixel is part of the new generation of non-ablative, fractional lasers that give superior results with less downtime.
The iPixel directs a short, intense burst of laser energy onto the surface of the skin. As a result, both water and skin tissue become vapourous within the surface layers.
Each time the laser passes over the skin, tiny areas (or pixels) of the outermost layers are removed. Surrounding skin tissue is untouched and remains intact.
In this process, collagen is stimulated by the body’s natural healing process in order to replace lost skin with new, healthy, and smoother tissue.
The next few days you will experience some dryness as your skin starts to resurface, and you may experience mild flaking. As your collagen is stimulated and skin cells turn over, you will notice areas of baby soft skin start to appear! Within a few days your skin will feel soft, texture will improve significantly, and acne scars will start to reduce. The skin will also feel much tighter.
We usually recommend that you give yourself a few days for the downtime and advise not to wear make- up after treatment. A lot of our clients who have I-pixel for the first time, may have the treatment done on Friday night, let the skin heal over the weekend and then go back to work on Monday.
We have seen amazing results with just 1 treatment, but some deeper lines, wrinkles and scarring may need a few more treatments for the best results.
Applying a cool pack after treatment will help with any discomfort
Avoid sun or other prolonged UV exposure for 14 days post treatment to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation or darker pigmentation. SPF and antioxidant protection must be worn post-treatment. You will be advised on suitable aftercare products
Avoid vigorous exercise, sauna/steam room/hot baths, and any other heat treatments, and makeup for 48 hours post treatment
Apply aloe vera gel to help soothe any sensitive skin
Avoid picking, rubbing or scratching the treated skin
Please note, the above aftercare is just a guide. Full aftercare advice will be given to you when you attend your appointment with us.
This treatment can be combined with other treatments on the Harmony XL Pro system for better results if necessary. Your Laser Therapist will be happy to talk you through the options available and tailor make a treatment plan for you.
